3-A-Day of Dairy and Football Create Healthy Bodies ![]() It wasn't hard to spot the 3-A-Day logo at the Jake Plummer Optimist Football Camp on June 10 in Boise. The field was covered with more than 500 boys, NFL players and coaches all sporting 3-A-Day t-shirts, which were provided by United Dairymen of Idaho on behalf of Idaho's dairy farm families. ![]() Denver Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer and 8 of his NFL friends visited Boise to give optimist football players a chance to hone their skills. UDI teamed with Jake Plummer to provide the t-shirts as well as milk and cheese for the participants. "It was a great opportunity for us to partner with Jake to promote good nutrition and physical activity," said Leah Clark, Marketing Consultant for UDI. The newly revised Dietary Guidelines sets up a foundation for a healthy diet and encourages Americans to enjoy 3 servings of nonfat or low-fat milk and milk products each day. "Dairy foods like milk provide a powerful nutrient package. Milk offers the taste that kids love along with the nutrients that growing bodies need - like calcium for strong bones and protein for energy and muscle development. ![]() |
